Pneumatic cylinders with integraded hydraulic cushioning can be used where a even and constant feed of a pneumatic cylinders is needed, for example when cutting aluminum profiles for window frames with a circular saw.
Due to the integraded hydraulic cushioning, accurately controllable movements, nearly independent of the load, can be achieved.
The advantage over common hydraulic cushionings lies within the ISO pneumatic cylinder that is integrated into our hydraulic cushioning.
This means occupation of less space – only one unit with the dimensions of a ISO cylinder is needed – and enables usage of standard cylinder mountings.
There is a great variety of regulation options due to throttles, stop valves and skip valves.
By adjusting a flow regulator stem, inward and outward speed can be controlled. On request, a scaled throttle is available, which covers the entire throttle portion with a 270° turn.
The stop valve is pneumatically actuated. If the pneumatic signal ceases, the valve blocks the oil circuit during inward or outward movement and thus blocks the cylinder.
If the pneumatic signal is given, the piston rod can, again, be moved.
The skip valve is used when different traversing speeds are required in one stroke.
This applies, for example, to drill feed units.
For them, the cylinder must operate rapidly and switch to a slower feed rate just before contact to the drill is established. This means that when pressurizing the skip valve, the piston rod is operating at high speed. When pneumatic control is lacking, the system switches to the slower feed rate.
